The venue
About Chateau Okanagan
A 44-acre private estate with a kilometre of Okanagan Lake shoreline. The whole property is booked for your group, and up to 24 guests stay on site, so the wedding can run over a full weekend. Privacy is the draw: with the whole estate to yourselves, there's no one else on the property and no schedule but your own. Meals are prepared by the on-site staff.

Where I film
There are so many places to shoot. The rock stairways, the black pools overlooking the lake, the lakefront lawn and terrace, and the garden courtyard all work, and the tree-lined ceremony site is stunning. Inside, the great room and the residences give plenty of interior detail to capture.
One tip
Film the entire day. The getting-ready room inside the estate is stunning, with great light, and there are lots of interior areas worth capturing. With the property private to your group and the food prepared by the on-site staff, starting early means the whole story makes it into your film.
